The war in the Middle East is full of death, terror and a lot of pain. However, among the ruins of houses destroyed by enemy missiles, real miracles also happen.

The child was born an orphan

A baby girl was miraculously born after being rescued from the womb of her mother who was killed by an Israeli bomb.

Sabreen al-Sakani, a seven-and-a-half-month pregnant woman, died before she could hold her baby in her arms, following an attack launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip, according to dailymail.

The tragedy happened on Saturday evening when the Israelis bombed the Palestinian city of Rafah. After midnight, a bomb hit the house where Sabreen and her family were sleeping. As a result of the explosion, her husband and her eldest daughter died on the spot, and she suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent a caesarean section.

While on the operating table, Sabreen died, but luckily the doctors were able to save the baby in her womb, a baby girl who weighed 1.4 kilos.

For several hours, the little girl gave great emotions to the doctors who had to resuscitate her several times to save her. A few hours later, the little survivor was sleeping peacefully in the incubator to which doctors had taped a paper that read “martyr Sabreen al-Sakani’s baby”.

The baby will be in the hospital for a month

Because she was born prematurely, the girl is experiencing difficulty breathing, and doctors are constantly monitoring her progress.

“We can say that there is progress in his health. But the situation is still risky. This respiratory distress syndrome is caused by premature birth. This child should have been in the mother’s womb by now.” declared one of the doctors who constantly monitor the evolution of the little one.

Doctors say that the girl will remain hospitalized for a month to make sure that her health is good and that she is out of danger.

“Then we will see what will happen with her departure… but it is a great tragedy. Even if she survives, she was born an orphan”the doctor also said.

Initially, the baby was named “the girl with no name”, but family members, who survived the Israeli attack, revealed that Malak, her sister who died, wanted to call her Rouh – spirit, in Arabic.

The paternal grandmother who promised to take her into her custody decided to name her Sabreen, in memory of her mother. “She is the daughter of my dear son. She is my love, my soul. She is a memory left by her father and I will take care of her.” said Ahalam al-Kurdi, the little girl’s paternal grandmother.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian paramilitary group Hamas attacked Israel with 2,500 rockets. Approximately 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed, and about 250 people were taken hostage. It was the bloodiest attack in Israel’s history and the bloodiest for Jews since the Holocaust.

Shortly after the Hamas attack, Israel declared war and responded with weeks of intense airstrikes in Gaza.

The Israeli military later expanded the operation into a ground offensive aimed at crushing Hamas and freeing the more than 100 hostages held by the terrorist group.

The Israeli offensive has caused unprecedented destruction in the Gaza Strip, where the war looks set to stretch throughout 2024.
