The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in a class of the Gaston-Berger high school in Lille, France. In the middle of the economics-law specialty exam of the STMG (management techniques) baccalaureate, a student felt sick and was taken care of by the emergency services. His condition was then stable and he was transported to the University Hospital of Lille.

“He fell to the ground,” said one of his comrades. The child would have died in the evening, according to Le Parisien. His death was confirmed by the rectory of the Lille academy. His shocked colleagues were asked to go home without finishing their exam. The test will be held again next week. The school inspectorate announces that a counseling cell for students and school staff was established on Tuesday evening.

The high school students present in the hall at the time of the incident “describe a scene of chaos and denounce the lack of reaction of the eight adults who were in charge of supervision”.
