Samsung is turning its attention to innovation for its 2026 flagship, the Galaxy S26anticipating the integration of a GPU produced in-housecalled informally “Dream Chip”. This initiative underscores the company’s desire to step up its hardware capabilities, marking a significant shift in component manufacturing strategy.
Until now, the Galaxy S25 series, scheduled to debut in 2025, will continue to use the Exynos 2500 chipset, which includes a GPU developed in collaboration with AMD. This indicates a gradual transition towards technological independence, with Samsung aspiring to further control the graphics performance of its devices.
Plans to develop a Own GPU for Galaxy S26 series reflects Samsung’s commitment to providing an optimized user experience with enhanced graphics performance and the ability to refine the interaction between software and hardware. This direction could also influence the future of the Exynos branding, with the possibility of it becoming an exclusive chipset for the Galaxy line, while devices in North American markets could continue to be equipped with Snapdragon chipsets.
