Samsung is expanding its offering of the update for the One UI 6.1 interface, bringing this firmware to older phone models as well, such as the Galaxy S22 and S21. The announcement was made at the last conference and comes as a confirmation of the company’s commitment to provide extended support for its devices, regardless of age.
One UI 6.1, which was initially introduced on the Galaxy S24 series, has already been rolled out to the Galaxy S23 devices and is set to roll out to models like the Galaxy S22, S21 and other older devices this month. The update promises significant improvements by integrating AI-based functionalities, providing an improved user experience.

Although Samsung has not provided a detailed list of devices that will receive the update, it has been confirmed that the update will also apply to some older models, but with an offer of Galaxy AI functions adapted to the hardware capabilities of each device.
In addition to mobile phones, the One UI 6.1 update will also be available for the Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets launched last summer. Users can expect features like Live Translate, Chat Assist, Circle to Search, Browsing Assist and Transcript Assist, which will add extra utility to compatible devices, Phone Arena writes.
In South Korea, the 2.8GB update has already started rolling out, and users in other regions should expect a global rollout in the coming days or weeks. However, features like Generative Edit or Instant Slow-mo won’t be available on older models like the Galaxy S22, being limited to the latest devices.
To use the AI-based features, users will need an active internet connection and will need to be logged into their Samsung account.
