AnTuTu released the ranking of the best performing smartphones in April, and, to no one’s surprise, the one that takes the first place is a gaming model, which proved to be a real “champion” in our tests as well. It’s about the ROG Phone 8 Pro, which manages to lead the ranking of the best performing phones again, with an aggregate score that surpasses all other tested models even a few months after its release.

AnTuTu releases this ranking especially for the Chinese market, so that’s why we have the names of the phones in Chinese, but we can easily tell which models they are. At the same time, this ranking reveals the performance difference between models equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and those with Dimensity 9300. Out of 10 listed phones, 8 use chipsets from Qualcomm, and only two from MediaTek. Of course, the performance differences in the ranking are due to the cooling systems and performance profiles chosen by the manufacturers.

What were the best performing Android phones in April 2024

  • ROG Phone 8 – 2,120,210
  • iQOO 12 – 2,090,252
  • RedMagic 9 Pro+ – 2,080,678
  • Vivo X Fold3 Pro – 2,070,888
  • Vivo X100 Pro – 2,055,987 (Dimensity 9300)

  • OnePlus 12 – 2,016,227

This ranking also shows how different the Chinese market is from the international one. Many phones from iQOO, vivo’s secondary brand, are present in this ranking, while vivo and iQOO are not even easily recognizable brands worldwide, and in many countries, such as Romania, they are not even are still available for sale.

Along with this ranking, we also have the ranking of the best performing mid-range phones, also tested with AnTuTu. Here we can see chipsets like Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and 7+ Gen 2, models that never made it to smartphones in Europe. We also see that the balance leans more towards MediaTek, with 6 out of 10 models being equipped with Dimensity processors. However, the leading places are also occupied by Qualcomm.
