Google Images with a big change. You may lose your photos

--

Google is preparing to make a crucial change to its Google Photos app. The popular cloud and local photo editor and storage will change the rules of photo storage.

Greater flexibility, but also greater risk of image loss

Reports of the app change are due to a difference in the Google Photos code for Android version 6.79.0.624777117. The application may soon give the user the decision to select, When there is a permanent loss of saved photos. Right now, that decision rests with Google, and the new feature is temporarily inactive, despite being in the code.

Do you have 60 days to recover your photos? Not necessarily

Currently, when files are deleted intentionally or unintentionally in the Google Photos app, they go to the Trash first. However, they are not stored there indefinitely – After 60 days it is no longer refundable.

However, it seems that Google wants to give users more freedom. The company is now ready for each of us to set a grace period for complete file deletion. We don’t yet know if these periods will be shorter than the default 60 days, or perhaps the other way around – Google will allow distracted users to be more comfortable.
