Simona Halep was impatient and made the announcement herself, after receiving the wildcard she wanted at the Paris tournament!

Just before Roland Garros, the Romanian will participate in another competition that will take place in the capital of France.

Simona Halep had no more patience and made the announcement

Simona Halep will compete, between May 13-19, at the Trophee Clarins, the organizers of the Paris tournament announced on the competition’s official Instagram account.

Shortly after the French announcement, the Romanian tennis player reacted and expressed her excitement to compete against some top opponents.

Simona Halep’s decision may seem somewhat surprising, since Roland Garros, the Romanian’s big goal, starts on May 20, one day after the end of the Trophee Clarins tournament.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to play in the Clarins Trophy. Every match is crucial for me as I continue my return to competitive tennis. I’m looking forward to showing my best tennis and I’m eager to compete against some top opponents”, said Simona Halep, quoted by Tennis Tonic.

Stere Halep, Simona’s father, admitted that the Romanian still hopes to receive a wildcard at Roland Garros: “Simona is very well, God help! We hope to see her at Roland Garros, if she gets a wild card”.

The WTA decision that also affects the Romanians Simona Halep and Sorana Cîrstea made Elena Rybakina storm out

“Maybe it makes sense for Indian Wells and Miami to have that duration, but to do it in these two events, shortly before Roland Garros… With the new rules we have no choice, we have to compete in too many tournaments.

We are going in the wrong direction, there is a lot to improve on the circuit and last year I wasted a lot of energy trying to change things. I realized it’s very difficult to do that, so I’ll just assume the rules and do my best.

For us, it’s a very difficult schedule, that’s for sure. Of course, people want to see quality matches. It’s not easy to perform when you’re traveling so much and touring every week,” said Elena Rybakinacited by sportskeeda.com.
