Simona Halep received an invitation for the Trophee Clarins, a tournament that will take place between May 13 and 19 and in which two other Romanians, Ana Bogdan and Jaqueline Cristian, will participate.

Simona Halep returned to the tennis court in March, after a long period of suspension. She participated in the Miami tournament, being eliminated in the first round by Paula Badosa, but since then she has not appeared in any competition.

He set Roland Garros 2024 as his goal, but until then, according to the tennisactu.net portal, he could do his “warm-up” at the Trophee Clarins. She received a wild card for this WTA 125 category tournament.

Trophee Clarins is scheduled for May 13-19, at Lagardère Paris Racing. Eight Top 50 players are expected in Paris: Sloane Stephens, Katie Boulter, Emma Navarro, Leylah Fernandez, Yue Yuan, Katerina Siniakova, Clara Burel and Diane Parry.

If she accepts the wild card, Simo would be the third Romanian in the tournament. Ana Bogdan and Jaqueline Cristian are also on the list already announced by the organizers.

Stere Halep: “Simona is fine, God Help!”

Previously, Halep had received a wild card for both the Oeiras tournament and the Madrid Open, but she was forced to decline both for medical reasons.

Present on Saturday at the match FCSB – Farul (2-1), at the National Arena, her father, Stere, had announced that: “Simona is very well, God help! We hope to see her at Roland Garros, if she gets a wild card”.

The Paris Open takes place this year from May 25 to June 9. Qualifying starts earlier on May 20. If the French do not grant her a wild-card, Simona Halep would have to “fly over” three rounds to reach the main draw.

There are currently no indications that Simona Halep will receive a wild card at Roland Garros

So far, there is no concrete indication that the former Paris winner will be granted an invitation to the main draw in Paris, a situation Halep spoke cautiously about last time.

If this does not materialize, the Romanian could have to play qualifiers at the Grand Slam tournament where she played in three finals.
