Dan Petrescu has been clapping with Ioan Varga for several weeks. The “Badger” was expected in Gruia from the beginning of the next season, but plans changed on the fly.

Petrescu has already signed the contract with CFR Cluj, he is in charge of the team’s training. Today things were made official.

The presentation was special. The group from Gruia posted on social networks a clip in which a fan of the club enters the stadium and carries the message: “Dane, do another miracle!”.

A few seconds later, the coach makes his appearance: “I’m back home. Enough talk, now to work!”

Dan Petrescu returned to CFR Cluj

Dan Petrescu has returned to Cluj Napoca and will immediately start work at CFR! The 56-year-old coach has reached an agreement with the boss Nelu Varga for the new commitment, one signed today, and from May 1, practically, the work at the “railway” team, with which he won four championships, begins.

CFR Cluj will enter the new “Dan Petrescu era”. SuperDan will analyze the performance of the players in the current batch, will decide in the coming days who stays and who continues to the Gruia group.

He will also discuss and negotiate with Nelu Varga about the footballers who would sign with CFR Cluj in the near future, everything depending on the budget for transfers that the “ferroviari” will have in the summer mercato.

Dan Petrescu will continue the collaboration with Ovidiu Hoban, the current interim, who was appreciated by the renowned technician during the years spent in white and cherry. SuperDan will (re)bring Valeriu Bordeianu and Bogdan Aldea to the Gruia team, his trusted collaborators from both CFR and Jeonbuk in South Korea.

How much does Dan Petrescu earn at CFR Cluj

SuperDan will have a super salary in Gruia: 30,000 euros/month, approximately the same as in the previous mandate. Anyway, over the Italian Andrea Mandorlini (18,000 euros/month) and Adrian Mutu (15,000 euros/month).

To the “basic” salary will be added double bonuses for victory in domestic competitions, promotion bonuses for U21 players, for footballers in the national team, for junior teams, for League 1 goalscorer, etc.

Dan Petrescu will also have a termination clause, in the mirror, with CFR Cluj. It will amount to 400,000 euros, like the previous one. If he leaves on his own initiative, he pays. If he is fired by the club, he gets the amount.
