Francis Ngannou confirmed the death of his 15-month-old son Kobe in a social media post, according to The Guardian.

The boxer and MMA fighter posted on X:

  • “Too early to go, but he went anyway. My little boy, my friend, my partner Kobe was full of life and joy. Now he lies lifeless. I called his name countless times, but he doesn’t answer.”
  • “I was my best self with him, and now I have no idea who I am anymore. Life is so unfair that it hits us where it hurts the most.”

Ngannou fought Tyson Fury in his first professional boxing match in Saudi Arabia last October in a balanced fight. In March, he was defeated by a unanimous decision by Anthony Joshua.

UFC fighter Conor McGregor posted a message of condolences, writing: “So sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time.”
