Olimpiu Moruțan was injured and will miss the Euro 2024
According to the Turkish media, the Romanian international will miss approximately six months, which translates into the fact that the player will miss the presence with Romania at Euro 2024.
In the 82nd minute of the match between Ankaragucu and Beşiktaş, counting for the semi-final round of the Turkish Football Cup, Moruțan injured himself after a jump (he landed badly on his left leg).
He was immediately replaced by coach Emre Belozoglu, and the Turkish club announced the grim verdict on social media on Wednesday: a ruptured Achilles tendon.
“Following the medical examinations carried out on Olimpiu Moruțan, a player who was injured in the match with Beşiktaş, it was found that he suffered a rupture of the Achilles tendon. The footballer will be operated on as soon as possible”, is the message of the Ankaragucu formation, the one with which Moruțan is registered.
Aged 24, Olimpiu will thus miss the presence at Euro 2024, where the Romanian national team qualified after an eight-year break.
