On Wednesday, March 27, Novak Djokovic announced his split from coach Goran Ivanisevic, who trained him for six years, following poor results earlier this year. The Croatian had joined the team of the legendary tennis player born in Belgrade in the summer of 2019, and together they won 24 titles, 9 of which were Grand Slam.

The most headline-grabbing tennis player in history revealed in an emotional post on Instagram that he will no longer work with Ivanisevic and that he loves him very much, thanking him for all his support over the past six years, while the former Croatian tennis player, Wimbledon champion 2021, responded with emoticons showing his gratitude.

Just over 24 hours after announcing his split from Goran Ivanisevic, his coach since 2019, Novak Djokovic was mobbed by fans as he left practice in Belgrade on Thursday. The most titillated tennis player in history preferred to stick to the message originally posted on his Instagram account, but offered fans a statement.

“I can’t comment on anything right now, I’m sorry I don’t give you what you’re asking for, but thank you for coming. Goran is a family member, a friend forever. Professionally, we just- we split and got a historic result so I think that says it all”said Djokovic, who continues his preparations for the clay season.
