Lionel Messi continued his MLS scoring streak by scoring twice as league leaders Inter Miami beat the New England Revolution 4-1 on Saturday.

With his double, Messi, the top scorer in MLS, reached nine goals in seven appearances this season.

More than 65,612 spectators were in attendance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the stadium the Revolution shares with the NFL’s New England Patriots, to see the World Cup-winning Argentine.

New Englandwhich was plagued by a virus in the run-up to the game and is in last place in the Eastern Conference, scored after only 40 seconds from the start of the game!

However, Inter Miami had a say. The Argentinian Messi equalized in the 32nd minute, the halftime score being 1-1. The second half was even better for Tata Martino’s band. Leo Messi made the double in the 68th minute, and Cremaschi scored for 3-1. Therefore, Suareaz was also not missing from the list of scorers, managing to score for 4-1 in the 89th minute.

Coach Gerardo Martino said the team is starting to gel as he had hoped.
