The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) announced, through a press release, that it will start in the next period the payment of the subsidy of 100 euros/hectare, the aid for the plant sector in the crisis framework Ukraine, respectively 100 euros/equivalent UVM (Unit Vita Mare) for the pig and poultry sectors for the production capacity under minimum welfare conditions held by each beneficiary.
Minister Florin Barbu established with the management team of MADR and the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture (APIA) that the target to start these payments is May 15.
“As we promised, farmers will receive 100 euros/hectare, respectively 100 euros for UVM for pigs and poultry. Farmers will receive this money even if the initially estimated ceiling for compensation payments is exceeded. In this sense, we are considering a supplement to the budget, to ensure the amount of 100 euros to all eligible beneficiaries”, said Florin Barbu, according to the MADR press release today, Thursday – May 9.
The requests submitted by farmers have exceeded the allocated ceiling
The county centers of the Payments Agency for Intervention in Agriculture will make the payments to all eligible beneficiaries, immediately after the approval of the necessary budget supplement. The support of 100 euros per hectare is granted to farmers for the areas sown in the fall of 2022.
We remind you that the information regarding the supplement to the budget for the payment of the aid of 100 euros per hectare was presented for the first time in the show Agrostrategia on TVR 1, a co-production Agrointelligence-AGROINTEL.RO.
“Yes, we must keep our word to the farmers. Indeed, the situation was like this: a larger number of applications was submitted than originally foreseen, than we had in the statistical data. We have to say that in that GEO there were three sectors that benefited from this subsidy: the vegetable sector with 100 euros per hectare, the pig and poultry livestock sector, with 100 euros per UVM, Large Livestock Unit. In the livestock sector, there are large farms that exceed the ceiling of 280,000 euros and will only receive within the limit of this amount, the limit on this framework Ukraine. Part of the sums remain from there and we will redirect them”, State Secretary Sorin Moise said on Agrostrategia (TVR 1) on April 23.
Today, Thursday – May 9, false information circulated according to which, instead of 100 euros per hectare, farmers would receive only 78.09 euros per hectare, and the payments would have already been authorized. Agrointelligence – AGROINTEL.RO denied this rumor by obtaining, from official sources, the information confirmed this evening also by MADR: that payments will begin on May 15 and that farmers in the vegetable sector will receive the full payment of 100 euros per hectare.
