A week before the company’s most important annual event, Google presented the Pixel 8a smartphone, reports News.ro.
Like its predecessors with an “a” at the end of the name, the Pixel 8a is intended to be the most affordable model of the Pixel 8 series, which will cost starting at $500.
The most important upgrade of the new smartphone is the switch to the Tensor G3 chipset, which, in the basic version, will be accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
There will also be a 256GB version, which will cost $100 more.
The new Google smartphone has a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits.
The company promises that the battery, 100mAh larger than that of the previous model, is enough to last a whole day.
The photo system, on the other hand, remains unchanged, being composed of a 64MP wide camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera.
Pixel 8a will enter the market, in the countries where Google officially sells it (not Romania, for now), starting on May 14.
