Dan Petrescu, after the CFR victory: “We hope that next year we will win the championship”
CFR Cluj managed to do the double in the play-off against Rapid. After winning 4-1 in Giulești, Cluj also won the second leg in Gruia 3-2.
Dan Petrescu sat on the Cluj bench for the match with Rapid. The “Badger” agreed to take over the team early, before the end of the season, to help them get their hands on second place.
“One yellow in one year! In Korea I didn’t get any yellow. I wouldn’t want to say why I got it, maybe it was my fault or the referee’s fault, I don’t know. At Burmaz’s goal, the referee gave me he said he changed the decision and made the indirect free kick a direct one, he let the players know beforehand and it’s not his fault.
I wasn’t ready to get into the bread quickly and it wasn’t easy for me. I wouldn’t want to take credit for what happened this season, I had to come and help a little, especially the boss asked me to. I hoped not to mess up.
