Romania purchased seven Patriot systems in recent years and the one filmed by Antena 3 CNN is operational, ready to go into action when needed.

According to official information, Romania currently has only one operational Patriot system

The last three Patriot batteries out of the seven purchased should arrive in our country in the next two to three years,” reported Antena 3 CNN correspondent, Laurentiu Rădulescu.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and his American counterpart, Joe Biden, discussed this week in Washington about the possibility of our country handing over a Patriot system to Ukraine.

“Romania has such systems and then we were also asked.

And President Biden brought this up and I told him I’m open to talking.

This means that I will have to discuss at home, in the CSAT, what we will have to offer and what we can receive in return, because it is unacceptable for Romania to remain without anti-aircraft defense”, stated Klaus Iohannis.
