100 families from the Palanca, Dârvari, Radila, Băltița, Cireşanu, Urlați, Cricov and Valea Cucului localities in Prague received, in the last days of Great Lent, basic food for the Easter meal. The charity action was organized by volunteers from the Chapel of the National Cathedral and took place within the “Get Involved!” campaign. Together we achieve more!”.

Dănuț Prună, coordinator of the Bucharest volunteers, spoke about the group’s latest activity: “It is important to also think about those of us who have nothing to put on the table or who have no one to knock on their door and bring a plate of food. It is important to at least look into them with a kind word, because the greatest suffering of the elderly in the village is not only in the financial aspect of their situation. Their big problem is loneliness. I was glad that we were able to bring them hope, put a smile on their face and let them know that they are not alone. I think there is no greater joy than that, when you are alone, someone knocks on your door and tells you: “Christ is risen!”.

Until now, through the campaign “Get involved! Together we achieve more!”, the volunteers of the Chapel of the National Cathedral carried out over 500 social-philanthropic activities in 22 counties of the country, helping approximately 10,000 families with limited financial means.
