Two earthquakes, both with magnitudes over 2, occurred in Gorj and Vrancea counties, three minutes apart.

According to the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics, at 15:23 an earthquake occurred in Gorj county, with a magnitude of 2.3.

It occurred at a depth of 13.3 kilometers and near the cities of Târgu Jiu (18 km), Drobeta-Turnu Severin (65 km), Hunedoara (69 km), Deva (84 km, Reșita (95 km).

The second earthquake was recorded at 15:26 in Vrancea county.

It had a magnitude of 2.4 and occurred at a depth of 84.8 kilometers.

The earthquake occurred near the cities of Focșani (53 km), Sfântu Gheorghe (56 km), Brașov (72 km), Buzău (78 km), Bacău (88 km).

There was also an earthquake in Buzau

On May 9, 2024, at 5:57:17 p.m., a weak earthquake with a magnitude of ml 3.5 occurred in the seismic zone of Vrancea, Buzau, at a depth of 140.0 km.

The earthquake occurred near the following cities: 53km E of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 58km W of Focşani, 64km E of Braşov, 68km NW of Buzău, 89km N of Ploiesti.
