Two earthquakes, both with magnitudes above 2, occurred on Thursday afternoon in Gorj and Vrancea counties, three minutes apart.

According to the data provided by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics, at 15:23 an earthquake occurred in Gorj county, with a magnitude of 2.3. The event took place at a depth of 13.3 kilometers and near the towns of Târgu Jiu (at 18 km), Drobeta-Turnu Severin (at 65 km), Hunedoara (at 69 km), Deva (at 84 km) and Reșita (at 95 km).

The second earthquake occurred at 15:26 in Vrancea county, having a magnitude of 2.4 and occurring at a depth of 84.8 kilometers. The earthquake occurred near the cities of Făcșani (at 53 km), Sfântu Gheorghe (at 56 km), Brașov (at 72 km), Buzău (at 78 km) and Bacău (at 88 km).

In other news, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Buzau county. The earthquake occurred near the cities of Focșani (at 44 km), Buzău (at 51 km), Sfântu Gheorghe (at 72 km), Brașov (at 80 km) and Ploiesti (at 86 km).
