The Public Sanitation, Environmental Protection and Public Domain Administration Service in Sibiu is organizing an auction on May 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., for the recovery of 20 abandoned or stray vehicles, which have entered the private property of the municipality. The auction has a starting price of 1.20 lei/kg, offers below this threshold will be rejected.
The procedure is open to economic operators with environmental authorization for the collection and treatment of end-of-life vehicles, who must submit the necessary documents and pay the fees specified in the specifications by May 24, 2024, 3:00 p.m. The specifications can be requested by those interested.
According to the notice for the recovery of motor vehicles, they can be inspected on May 15 and 16, 2024, between 12:00 and 13:00, provided that 24 hours’ notice has been given. Bids will be opened on May 27, and the results will be displayed on May 29, 2024. If no bids are received by the initial deadline, the process will be extended, with new deadlines set for the submission and opening of bids, respectively the display of results.
Appeals can be submitted until May 30, 2024, and in case of extension of the deadline, until June 10, 2024. All activities are carried out at the headquarters in Piaţa Mică, no. 22.
A month ago, the Sibiu City Hall announced that it had removed from the public domain four cars considered “without an owner” – a Bmw X3, a Peugeot 407, an Opel Astra and a Dacia Papuc. The owners of these vehicles had the obligation to claim them within 5 days from the appearance of the announcement published by the local administration, otherwise they would be declared “ownerless” and passed into the property of the municipality of Sibiu.
Last year the City Hall put 16 abandoned cars on sale, also at the same price.
