• the county councilors approved in the regular April meeting of Brăila CJ, 11 projects regarding the financing of sports programs proposed by local clubs from various sports branches • in total, we are discussing over 1.2 million lei • as in previous years, its financing made on the basis of Law 69/2000 on physical education and sport • also then, the Brăila County Council also approved a cooperation protocol with the Romanian Handball Federation for the rental of the Multipurpose Hall, so that the semifinal of the IV Junior Zonal Tournament could take place during April 29 – May 1

Brăila County Council recently approved over 1.2 million lei for the financing in 2024 of sports other than handball, where the Braila administration owns shares and the financing of the team is done differently. More precisely, in the ordinary meeting of the Brăila CJ in April, 11 proposals from Braila clubs from different sports branches regarding a series of programs were debated and approved. In total, we are discussing the amount of 1,270,790.94 lei for this year.

From the reports of the draft decisions in the folders of the county councilors, we learn that everything was done based on the Regulation (also approved in 2024) regarding the conditions, criteria and procedure for financing sports programs of public utility, based on the provisions of the Physical Education and Sports Law no. 69/2000, with subsequent amendments and additions. In other words, the procedure by which the county administration can allocate money from the local budget to finance the sports programs proposed by the clubs that are established within Brăila County.

Concretely, following the addresses received from the clubs, CJ Brăila, through an Evaluation and Selection Commission for the sports programs financed from public funds, analyzed the requests for financial support and financed the sports programs that fell within the criteria imposed by the respective regulations.

How much money each club received

In the order of their approval in CJ Brăila: for the sports program “Promoting performance sports”, the Arashi – Do Brăila Martial Arts Club Association received the sum of 37,028.87 lei. Cuza Pirates Brăila Sports Club Association, for the program “Juniors from Brăila play basketball!” received the amount of 185,480.80 lei, and for the program “League 1 for men’s basketball – the continuity of athletes from Brăila!”, received 175,915.36 lei. For its part, the “Fotbal Club 1919 Dacia Unirea Brăila” Association, for the sports program

“Dacia Unirea Brăila – education through sport”received the amount of 197,976.20 lei, and for the program “Brailean football – tradition, future, performance”the amount of 197,985.72 lei.

First Kart Sport Club – First Kart, for the program “We do Karting!” received the amount of 39,949.50 lei. LiL Motion Dance School Sports Club Association, for “The LiL Road to Performance” – 166,565.51 lei. Also to the Braila Supporter Club Sportive Association, for the program “Continuity in promoting the image, spirit and values ​​of performance football at the junior level in Brăila county and municipality” the amount of 70,497.90 lei was allocated to him, and for the program “Continuity in promoting the image, spirit and values ​​of performance football at the senior level in Brăila county and municipality”, 123,241.88 lei.

Tokon Dojo Sports Club Association with the sports program “Karate – You too can become a champion” was chosen with the amount of 37,430 lei. At the same time, the Tsunamy Brăila Martial Arts Club Association, the program “Promoting performance sports” the amount of 38,719.20 lei.

We specify that in February of this year, the County Council approved the allocation of the contribution of 14 million lei to finance the sports activities of HC “Dunărea” Brăila. In addition to this amount, Brăila City Hall added 4.5 million lei for the handball team.

Collaboration protocol for junior handball players

Also in that meeting, the county councilors approved a cooperation protocol between the Territorial Administrative Unit – Brăila County, through the Brăila County Council and the Romanian Handball Federation, in order to organize the Zonal Tournament – semi-final phase, juniors IV.

In short, the Romanian Handball Federation, in collaboration with the Brăila County Handball Association, sent an address in April, requesting the Brăila County Council, free of charge, the “Danubius” Multipurpose Hall for the holding of the Zonal Tournament, during the 29 April – May 1, 2024. The building located in Brăila Municipality, on Strada Pietății no. 1C, is in the public property of Brăila County, under the administration of CJ Brăila and this protocol was also possible based on the Sports Law.

All the projects mentioned, proposed by the president of the CJ Brăila, Francisk Iulian Chiriac (head of PSD Brăila), were approved by unanimous votes.
