Raluca Turcan discussed the importance of political alliances and their associated strategies in the “Political Hour” show. The leader of the PNL Sibiu emphasized that at the moment the liberals cannot consider a political alliance at the local level, because he believes that these alliances should be built according to the results of the vote.
Turcan emphasized that it is necessary that the politics of alliances be understood as a process based on votes and national interest, not on personal preferences or sympathies, therefore, building political alliances is a strategy that must be oriented towards the good of the country.
“Serious politicians know that alliances are discussed on votes. So the voting result is the main tool or argument for further alliance policy. I think that anyone who says now that we are going to do with one or the other, actually does not understand the point of building alliances. Alliances are not made because I like some or because I get along better with some than with others. In this case, we would never form a government to get the country through difficult times, because we didn’t sit at the table with any very nice people on a personal level. But these things were done for the country and as a result of the logic of the votes, after we see the structure of the vote at the local and national level, we can say exactly what the alliance policy will be”, commented Raluca Turcan.
The result of the 2016 election led to the formation of a local alliance between the FDGR and the PNL, which proved effective over the eight years. At this moment, Raluca Turcan is not considering an alliance with PSD at the local level, nor with another party, because he believes that in the absence of results, this decision cannot be relevant. At the same time, he wants the efforts made for the county and the city of Sibiu to be appreciated by the people.
“I am waiting for the result of the vote and I only wish that what we have done for Sibiu county, for the city of Sibiu, will reach people primarily as information and be valued. At the same time, for people to be able to discern between virulence, extremism, between speeches of hatred and cancellation and to receive the results and the projects made. I think that if we achieve this here, in Sibiu, in all voices, to tell people what we have done, we can only continue to be partners”, said Raluca Turcan.
