The representatives of the Constanța City Hall announce that, starting today and until May 17, 2024, all 63 public alarm sirens in Constanța will be checked. Inspectors of the Civil Protection Service from Constanța City Hall together with specialists from the provider company ensure that the sirens in Constanța work in the best conditions.

“As part of this activity, short acoustic signals will be emitted. We ask the citizens to remain calm as it is only a check of the means of alarm.

ACOUSTIC ALARM SIGNALS OF THE POPULATION, PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS AND ECONOMIC OPERATORS

AIR PRE-ALARM – Consists of 3 sounds (pulses) of 32 seconds each, with a 12-second pause between them. Significance: Making the population aware of the possibility of an air attack

AIR ALARM – Consists of 15 sounds (pulses) of 4 seconds each with a 4 second pause between them. Meaning: Making the population aware of the imminence of an air attack

DISASTER ALARM – It consists of 5 sounds (impulses) of 16 seconds each, with a 10-second break between them. Meaning: Making the population aware of the imminence of disasters

CESSATION OF ALARM – It consists of a continuous sound, of the same intensity, lasting 2 minutes. Meaning: the danger has ended, activities can be resumed.

Keeping the notification-alarm system operational is one of the responsibilities of the local public administration. By means of these means of alarm, acoustic signals with different meanings can be transmitted or voice messages aimed at certain measures for the community can be transmitted”, inform the representatives of the Constanța City Hall.
