Lime scooters thrown into Valea Sapunului (photo)

Two of the Lime electric scooters, designed to facilitate the movement of Sibiu people around the city to bring comfort and efficiency, were thrown and abandoned in the waters of the Valea Săpunului river, right near Mihai Viteazu boulevard in Sibiu.

Within the radius of Sibiu, there are a total of 250 Lime electric scooters located in Orașul de Jos, Center and beyond. Some of them can also be found on the streets, after being used and parked by other users, or in this case in the Valea Săpunului river.

Even with the requirement of the Lime application to photograph the parked scooter before the completion of the race, to check if the parking rules were respected, it seems that two of them were thrown into the Cibin tributary, which crosses Mihai Viteazu boulevard. Such actions represent a violation of the rules of use and may have a negative impact on the environment. The two Lime scooters were found on the evening of Monday, May 6, with several passers-by stopping their evening stroll to photograph them.

Where Lime scooters are not parked

Sibiu has a set of rules regarding the parking of scooters in the city, which every passenger must respect. Parking is prohibited:

• on sidewalks less than 2 m wide;
• in the perimeter of public transport stations, along the entire length of the station and 25 m before and after the station;
• on the alignments of buildings, fences or bridges (supported by them);
• on parking spaces specially arranged for cars, including those with exclusive use (taxi, disabled persons, coaches, motorcycles, reserved);
• in the area of ​​pedestrian crossings, along the entire length of the crossing and 25 m before and after the pedestrian crossing;
• on green spaces;
• in intersections and less than 10 meters from intersections;
• in the area of ​​car and pedestrian accesses;
• on construction sites in the public domain;
• on the mouths of the canal/ventilation or the homes related to the underground building networks;
• in all areas and spaces where the safety and smooth flow of road and/or pedestrian traffic would be endangered;
• on the road side;
• on stairs or pedestrian passages;
• on the banks of rivers or lakes;
• at bicycle races.
