The Holy Light will be brought from Jerusalem on Saturday. When will it arrive in Alba Iulia?

The Holy Light will be brought from Jerusalem, on the evening of Saturday, and will be offered to the delegates of the dioceses present at the Otopeni Airport, announces the Romanian Patriarchy. The Holy Light will be received at the Patriarchal Cathedral at 19:00, according to mediafax.
According to the Romanian Patriarchate, the tradition of bringing the Holy Light from Jerusalem, inaugurated by Father Patriarch Daniel in 2009, continues this year.

Thus, the Holy Light will be brought from Jerusalem, on the evening of Saturday, by Father Archimandrite Teofil Anăstăsoaie, and will be offered to the delegates of the dioceses of the Romanian Patriarchate present at the “Otopeni” International Airport.

“Subsequently, the diocesan centers, through deanships, will distribute the Holy Light to each parish within them. And this year, the Holy Light will be taken, by means of a delegate of the Metropolis of Moldova and Bucovina, from Bucharest to Chisinau, where it will be offered to the parishes of the Metropolis of Bessarabia,” the Patriarchate reports.

On Saturday evening, around 19.00, the Holy Light will be received at the Patriarchal Cathedral by His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel.

When will the Holy Light arrive in Alba Iulia?

On Holy and Great Saturday (May 4), in the evening hours, a delegation of the Archdiocese of Alba Iulia will be present at Sibiu International Airport, from where the Holy Light from Jerusalem will be brought. The delegation of our Diocese will arrive at the Archbishop’s Cathedral in Alba Iulia after 21:00, approximately two and a half hours before the Holy Resurrection Service.

As every year, the Holy Light from Jerusalem will be offered, at the Reunification Cathedral, to all the representatives of the parishes and monastic settlements in the counties of Alba and Mureș, respectively from the entire Archdiocese of Alba Iulia, it is shown on the website of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Alba Iulia.
