The project of the new tram depot in Oradea has been submitted for financing. The works amount to 278 million lei

The Oradea City Hall, through the Directorate of Management Projects with International Financing (DMPFI), has submitted for financing a large project aimed at modernizing the city’s transport infrastructure. The project entitled “Bus depot construction and depot rehabilitation in the Municipality of Oradea” was submitted within the North-West Regional Program 2021 – 2027.

This project includes 3 investment objectives whose feasibility studies have been completed:

  1. Development and optimization of the public transport system at the level of the Municipality of Oradea and its functional urban area by setting up and equipping a Bus depot.
  2. Modernization of Oradea tram depot infrastructure.
  3. Development of a bicycle track passing the Grigorescu neighborhood to the existing track on Sextil Pușcariu.

The value of the submitted project is 278,634,955.26 lei, of which the non-refundable amount is 144,719,589.00 lei. This is the maximum grant amount for a project.

Modernization of the tram depot in Oradea

The object of this investment is the modernization of the tram depot on Atelierel street. Thus, the following interventions are proposed:

  • building the infrastructure and superstructure of the tram lines
  • the replacement of tram lines according to the current rules for the installation of the new running line;
  • modernization of flows at the depot level;
  • modernization of the track device;
  • introduction of a signaling system, greasing;
  • the modernization of the daily intervention hall (C9) in order to take over the activities and functions specific to the maintenance and repair of new rolling stock and existing rolling stock based on modern technologies that correspond to the requirements of the technical books;
  • modernization of internal networks, pumping and settling system;
  • modernization of the power supply system and network, contact wire;
  • modernization of the lighting network inside the depot;
  • the modernization of the platforms and internal circulations in the daily interventions hall (Corp C9) as well as the green areas;
  • Restoring the PSI system;
  • Setting up an external tram car wash, with the necessary equipment and infrastructure.

Construction of a new depot

“The land that is the object of this investment proposal is located on Anghel I. Saligny Street, being located in the Eurobusiness II Industrial Park, with easy access from the city’s ring road. The surface of the land is 33,119 square meters, it is located in the suburbs of the municipality of Oradea and has the use category of arable land”, the Oradea City Hall transmitted.

The bus base will be equipped with all the necessary facilities and will include several buildings, including:

  • Administrative building (height regime P + 1E)
  • Building operation and programming (height regime P)
  • Repair and maintenance workshop building (height regime P)
  • ITP building and laundry (height regime P)
  • Canopy 1 (height regime P)
  • Canopy 2 (height regime P)
  • Fuel station (height regime P)
  • Doorman cabin (height mode P)

Between the administrative building and the repair and maintenance workshop building, a building body with the operation and programming function is proposed. This body will be intended for a good organization of bus exits and entrances to the bus depot.

Also, in this building, you can find the offices related to the section: office of programming operators, column head office, section head office, next to the meeting room and a room intended for the archive. These spaces are served by sanitary groups organized by gender and office.

Bus repair and maintenance workshop building

The proposed situation illustrates a building body with a built area of ​​1772.37 m2 and an unfolded area of ​​1772.37 m2, housing the bus repair area.

Within the premises of the hall are designed 7 bus lines numbered from Line 1 to Line 7, which have functions and are equipped as follows:

  • Line 1 – Technical inspection and oil change line (RT1+SU) which benefits from a technical channel with a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m.
  • Line 2 – Technical inspection and oil change line (RT2+SU) equipped with a technical channel having a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m, with folding bridges for lateral access in hard-to-reach work areas and elevators.
  • Line 3 – Technical inspection line (RT3) equipped with a technical channel with a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m.
  • Line 4 – Technical inspection line (RT4) equipped with a technical channel with a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m.
  • Line 5 – Line for current repairs + quick check (RC1+VR) equipped with a technical channel having a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m.
  • Line 6 – Line for current repairs (RC2) benefiting from lifts.
  • Line 7 – Line for current repairs of electric buses equipped with a technical channel having a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m.
  • Line 8 – Electric bus washing line.
  • Line 9 – Line for washing buses.
  • Line 10 – Line for periodic technical inspection having a technical channel with a depth of 1.50 m and a length of 20.60 m.

Canopy 1, 2

In the eastern part of the site, two identical canopies are proposed to protect the buses parked on the site with a built area/canopy of 1594.95 m2. A covered space is generated, without side closures. The canopies will house a number of 72 buses.
