Marian Cristian Minae, Second Suspect in the Assassination of Businessman Adrian Kreiner, Brought to the Country Under Escort

Marian Cristian Minae, 35 years old, was brought to Otopeni Airport by an escort from the Romanian Police and did not make any statement to the press.

On Wednesday, May 1, Minae will be presented to the judge, in Sibiu, to confirm the preventive arrest warrant.

He was identified following the exchange of information between the officers of the International Police Cooperation Center – IGPR and the partners from Great Britain, the Romanian Police reported.

On November 19, 2023, the Sibiu Court issued the preventive arrest warrant in his name, for the crime of aggravated murder and two offenses of aggravated robbery, and his data appear on the website of the Romanian Police.

Almost 6 months after the crime, two people are arrested on charges of murder: Laurentiu Ghiţă, caught on November 19, 2023 in Scotland and brought to Romania at Otopeni Airport, on the night of December 29 to 30, 2023, then remanded in custody in Sibiu and Marian Minae.

The Romanian police are still looking for the third suspect, Cosmin Costinel Zuleam. The Sibiu court issued arrest warrants in absentia on behalf of the three, for aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.

How Adrian Kreiner was killed

Adrian Kreiner was beaten and robbed in his villa in Sibiu, on the night of November 6, 2023, by three men wearing hoods and died in hospital on November 7. Kreiner was tied by the hands and feet by the robbers, who beat him, then covered him with a carpet and stole watches worth 200,000 euros, but they did not take the money that was in the house, according to prosecutors.

Adrian Kreiner’s daughter was in the villa in Sibiu at the time of the attack, when the businessman was killed. She took refuge in the bedroom and hid in the dressing room, from where she called 112. Later, she was found by the attackers, beaten and threatened with a gun, according to the pretrial arrest report.
