On Tuesday, the government adopted a decision regarding the construction of a road bridge over the Tisa river, on the border between Romania and Ukraine, which will have the Romanian end in the Tepliţa area of Sighetul Marmaţiei, said the spokesman of the Executive, Mihai Constantin.

“I would also like to point out the progress made in the intensification of bilateral relations between Romania and Ukraine, an effect of the government meeting between the two countries, which took place last October in Kiev. At that time, I announced the opening of the border point over the Tisa River between Sighetul Marmaţiei and the White Church in Ukraine. Today, by Government decision, it was decided to build a road bridge over the Tisa river with the Romanian end in the Tepliţa area of Sighetul Marmaţiei. Also, by the agreement between the governments of the two countries, a joint commission will be established whose purpose will be to coordinate all activities related to the construction of this infrastructure objective”, said Mihai Constantin, according to Agerpres.

He also said that, in the medium and long term, the project integrates into the Romania-Ukraine-Slovakia and Hungary sectoral cooperation program between the border regions involved.

“It is about the coordination of integrated development efforts at the level of the border region of northwestern Romania, northeastern Hungary, southwestern Ukraine and southeastern Slovakia,” Constantin said.
