The International Stradivarius Tour 2024, which includes 18 concerts in which violinist Alexandru Tomescu will perform works by JS Bach, which were originally composed for the cello, will take place between June 25 and July 16.

According to a press release sent by AGERPRES on Tuesday, entitled “Metamorphoses”, the tour will take place in 18 Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic, Lutheran and Reformed cathedrals or new spaces, of which 16 are urban and rural localities. Two concerts will take place in Bucharest, the duration of a show being 75 minutes.

“It is for the 17th year that the violinist Alexandru Tomescu goes with his Stradivarius violin on a journey through 18 places in Romania, urban and rural, to offer a new musical royalty: this year is dedicated to the six transcription suites for violin solo, by Johann Sebastian Bach, presented in a light design show, specially designed by the director Sergiu Ardelean, to reveal how powerful and magnificent each work is”, the organizers say.
