Mother Anastasia, known before 1989 as Puica Igiroșanu, passed on to the eternal ones. The announcement was made on Facebook by the actor and director Ștefan Ruxanda.

“Mother Anastasia, known to the general public as Puica Igiroșanu, passed to the Lord. The inanimate body will be deposited at the St. Irina Hospice Church, Voluntari. The funeral will take place (probably) on Thursday at the Nera Monastery. May God rest her in peace!”, Ștefan Ruxanda sent on Facebook.

Puica Igiroșanu was tutored by Father Arsenie Papacioc and Father Rafail Noica (son of Constantin Noica) while he was in Great Britain and collaborated with the BBC radio station, during the communist regime. Later, Puica Igiroșanu went to France for 7 years, and after 1990 she returned to Romania and became Mother Anastasia from the Black Monastery in Banat.

Among its most famous light music songs are: “Să cante tinerețea”, Tu asa mi ai ses” and “Când asi brevet”. Puica Igiroșanu also established himself in jazz.
