Truck driver, drunk on the highway in Sibiu. He was caught after a dangerous overtaking

A truck driver who made an irregular overtaking maneuver was stopped by the police on the highway. Law enforcement found several irregularities, so they fined him and left him without a license.

A man from Ilfov was pulled over by the police on the highway in Sibiu. “Today (no: Tuesday), around 11.45, on the A1 Highway, in the area of ​​km. 254 (airport exit), on the Sebeș – Sibiu direction, the police officers of the A1 Râmnicu Vâlcea – Deva Highway Police Bureau detected a tow truck whose driver had made an irregular overtaking maneuver. The road unit was stopped, a 58-year-old man from Ilfov county was identified as the driver.

Following the checks carried out regarding the observance of rest times, the police found that the man was using a “magnet” type device to alter the data recorded on the tachograph.

Moreover, the breathalyzer test of the driver indicated a value of 0.98 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air, the man being accompanied to a medical unit where biological samples were collected in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

For the contraventional aspects found by the policemen of the Highway Brigade, the man was sanctioned contraventionally with a fine in the total amount of 9,990 lei, as well as with the suspension of the right to drive vehicles on public roads for a period of 60 days.

At the same time, at the level of BPA A1 Râmnicu Vâlcea – Deva, a criminal investigation file was opened, which aims to commit the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol. The investigations are continued under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu District Court.
