Archery: Gold and silver at the Federation Cup – Mures News, Mures Targu News

The archers from CSM Târgu Mureș started the internal outdoor season in Bucharest, where they participated in the Outdoor Federation Cup, a competition organized by the Romanian Archery Federation.

At the competition organized at the Olimpia stadium, CSM Târgu Mureş was represented by 5 athletes: Tamás Móréh in the U21 men’s Recurve category, Codrin Salcă in the U18 men’s Compound category, Fecioru Ilinca in the senior women’s Recurve category and Şerban Răchită, respectively Sándor Kacsó, both in the Senior Compound category.

Tamás, Ilinca and Şerban – the golden trio

The first two clearly won the competition in their category, after they qualified detached from the first position and maintained this status until the end. Salcă Codrin ranked 2nd in the qualifications and won the silver medal.

Șerban Răchită qualified from 1st place and advanced directly to the quarter-finals where he won the match against athlete Marius Milcu with a score of 138-137. In the semi-final, he met Vlad Teodor from CSM Bacău and won the match much more clearly, with a score of 145-137.

According to CSM Târgu Mureș, in the final, Şerban managed to win first place after defeating Judea Mirel from SCM Deva with a score of 147-143.

Sándor Kacsó qualified from the 13th position and then lost in the round of 16 against Vlad Teodor from CSM Bacău, with a score of 132-143.

Gold also in Compound teams

According to the same source, Răchită, Kacsó and Salcă managed to climb the first step of the podium for senior teams.

“They qualified from the 3rd place, but they managed to finish in the first place after two very strong matches, where the athletes gave everything they could and synchronized perfectly. In the first match, they defeated the athletes from Steaua Bucharest with a score of 226-215, and then, in the gold final, they managed to win against those from Aktiv Bucharest with 224-210”it is stated on the CSM page.

This was the first competition of the outdoor season and our athletes are satisfied with the results, and in addition to medals, they come home with extra experience to make the necessary changes in technique and equipment to have better results.
