Tens of kilograms of food and hundreds of eggs, withdrawn from sale after checks, in Satu Mare

Fines of over 125,000 lei and hundreds of kilograms of food withdrawn from sale. This is what the balance sheet of the joint control commission that was active at the level of the Prefect’s Institution before the holidays shows. The biggest fines came from Consumer Protection, official data show.

In the period leading up to the Easter Holidays, up to this moment, the joint commission formed at the level of the Prefect’s Institution has carried out a number of 20 actions in the county, of which 14 at food outlets and 6 at agro-food markets. The commission’s work continues until the holidays. As a result of the checks, the fines given by the institutions amount to 125,000 lei, the biggest sanctions being given by those from the Consumer Protection Commissionerate.

Up to this moment, 21 contraventional sanctions have been applied, as follows:

DSP 4 contravention fines in the amount of 29,200 lei

DSVSA 2 contravention fines in the amount of 11,200 lei

IPJ 3 contraventional sanctions in the amount of 15,000 lei,

CJPC 12 fines in the amount of 70,000 lei and 1 warning

As complementary measures, 23.65 kg of food products, 250 pieces of eggs, general goods in the amount of 7,350 lei, 103 kg of food temporarily stopped from sale (not properly labeled) and 5.4 kg of products with expired durability date, definitively discontinued from marketing.

“We requested the heads of inspectorates and devolved services not to back down from the firm application of the law, to prevent any deviation that may endanger the health of citizens”, said Ioan Tibil, prefect of Satu Mare county, during a conference press conference that took place today at the institution’s headquarters.
