Delivery in Satu Mare with a powder drunk driver. It delivered a chain crash

A Satu Mare resident was sentenced TODAY to a suspended sentence of 1 year and 6 months by the magistrates of the Satu Mare Court. And this after he drove the Ford Transit van on Octavian Goga boulevard in the municipality of Satu Mare, under the influence of alcoholic beverages (1.55 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air), being involved in a road accident resulting in material damage.

More precisely, since he did not keep a sufficient distance from the Ford Transit van in front of him, he caused a collision. Following the impact, the Ford Transit van was projected into the Opel Movano van, which was traveling in front.

The individual told the police that on 19.01.2024, because he was celebrating his birthday, he started consuming alcohol, i.e. 500 ml of vodka and 500 ml of Jagermeister at around 20:00. On 20.01.2024, for the same reason, he consumed an amount of 1000 ml of wine and approximately 5-6 cans of beer per 500 ml, and on 21.01.2024, he no longer remembers the amount he consumed , he only knows that he consumed beer at a bar near his home. On 22.01.2024, around 11:00 a.m., he consumed a quantity of 100 ml of vodka, without remembering the exact place where he consumed it, and around 12:00 p.m., he consumed a quantity of 100 ml of vodka.

At around 12:45, on the same day, he got behind the wheel of the Ford Transit van, belonging to the company he works for, with the intention of moving to unload the goods from the van. It’s just that he caused a chain reaction and got a criminal conviction.
