The Cluj County Council rented the Banffy Palace from Răscruci to the Manelists for a video.
Culita Sterp, Georgiana Lobonț and Vali Vijelie appear in the clip. They chose the location at Răscruci because it is opulent and conveys a message of wealth, themes frequently found in the songs of the manelists.
The renovation of the Banffy Palace cost over 11 million euros: 4 million euros from European funds and another 7.5 million euros from the county’s own budget.
“By completing this project, we offer a special objective to Cluj, tourists or lovers of history and beauty. The exploitation of this architectural pearl of great historical and cultural importance will boost the development of this entire area of the county. Bánffy Castle in Răscruci, an identity objective and a reference point on the tourist map of Transylvania, will be able to be visited by the general public and will be a community space, which will host cultural events and not only“, said Alin Tișe at the castle’s inauguration party.
The castle can be rented out by anyone who wants to, so it is only natural that the puppeteers should also have the opportunity to do so. In addition, weddings, private events and even festivals can be held there.
