In 2008, 36,000 people worked in companies in the chemical industry (CAEN code 20), according to data from the Trade Register, and in 2022, the same sector still had 17,000 people, a reduction in half compared to 15 years ago.

The chemical industry can be relaunched, but this will only be achieved with a 20-year plan, both in terms of financing and in terms of the timetable we are setting.

The current lack of predictability is a problem because it “primarily hits the human resource”.

“People tend to leave a system that is not predictable and does not help you develop on a human level”, representatives of ICECHIM (National Research and Development Institute for Chemistry and Petrochemistry), under the coordination of the Ministry of Research, said at ZF Live . The institute has 160 employees.

ICECHIM had meetings with the Polytechnic University and Chimcomplex, the largest entrepreneurial industrial company, a partnership with a view to relaunching the chemical industry, some proposals were made in this regard and a response is awaited.
