The BMW i4 electric model has gone through a series of updates this year, some three years after its launch, both in terms of design and technology, along with the 4 Series Gran Coupe, the classic version with combustion engines. With the launch of these new versions on the market, BMW Romania announces the prices for the local market.

Thus, the BMW i4 eDrive 35 will cost 50,159 euros, without any discount applied through Rabla. The model also comes with a first, a new i4 version with electric all-wheel drive. For the 4 Series Gran Coupe, the novelty comes to the transmission, where the Steptronic Sport box is offered as standard. The price for the Serie 4 Gran Coupe, which cost 50,575 euros until now, has not yet been announced.

Production of the new i4 will begin this summer at the Munich plant.

Among the aesthetic changes is the new front grille, which has a specific look for the electric model. The headlights have a new structure of LED optical blocks, with vertical light sources for side, daytime and signal lights.

The optional M Sport package includes a rear diffuser element in gloss black and exhaust pipes whose diameter has been extended to 100 millimeters. The new models can be ordered from the factory with the M Sport Pro package, but also with the M Carbon exterior package. Furthermore, new models can benefit from additional sporty design and performance notes through model-specific BMW M Performance components that can be ordered from the BMW Original Accessories range.

Inside, the steering wheel has a new design, with the three-spoke M leather steering wheel available as an option. The instrument panel has a small number of buttons and controls, and the ventilation and climate functions as well as the optional heating of the seats and the steering wheel can be operated on the central display and by voice command.

New to the range is the BMW i4 xDrive40, a model with electric all-wheel drive – provided by two electric motors, one on each axle. Maximum system power is 295 kW/401 hp, and the maximum range varies between 444 and 548 kilometers. The other existing models remain in the range: BMW i4 eDrive35, BMW i4 eDrive40 and the range-topping BMW i4 M50 xDrive.

The combined charging unit (CCU) for the BMW i4 allows alternating current (AC) charging at a maximum rate of 11 kW, while direct current (DC) charging can be done with up to 205 kW (180 kW for the BMW i4 eDrive35).

All BMW i4 variants are now suitable for Connected Home Charging in the initial group of pilot markets: solar-optimized and load-optimized charging are possible, as well as (as the scheme expands) cost-optimized charging using a dynamic electricity tariff. Plug & Charge Multi Contract allows convenient charging at public stations, with direct authentication through the car’s communication with the station.

The 4 Series Gran Coupé thermal model is available with a fairly large list of thermal, gasoline and diesel engines. The range includes the 275 kW/374 hp inline six-cylinder petrol engine that powers the range-topping BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé, plus two further four-cylinder petrol engines.

Customers can also opt for one of two diesel powertrains – an inline-six and a four-cylinder. The six-cylinder in-line and four-cylinder diesel engines are combined with 48V mild-hybrid technology as standard. The transmission available as standard for all thermal engines is the eight-speed Steptronic Sport. The engine’s power is transferred to the road either through classic rear-wheel drive or through the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, depending on the model.
