Unanimous vote for the Palliative Care Unit! SJU Vaslui is looking for the financing line for the investment

The Vaslui County Council approved the implementation of the project “Development of palliative services within the Vaslui County Hospital by creating a palliative care department”. The palliative care ward will have underground parking for doctors, an inner courtyard for the intimacy of patients, a green terrace, and the salons will each have two beds and their own bathroom.

Ciprian Trifan, the vice-president of the Vaslui County Council (CJ), said that the representatives of the Vaslui County Emergency Hospital (SJU) will identify the funding program to support the investment.

“There will be a line of funding that colleagues at the hospital will approach, so that we can do this work. Together we have invested a lot in health and we will continue to invest in both health and education”said Ciprian Trifan.

At the moment, SJU Vaslui does not have a space adapted to the requirements of palliative care. The location of the new investment is located in the premises on Ștefan cel Mare street, no. 233, Vaslui municipality; the proposed construction is located in the protection zone of the historical monument complex – Boys’ Normal School, today the TBC Hospital.

The maximum capacity designed for the new pavilion is 40 beds, organized in 20 halls, with private bathroom and an isolator, which can accommodate 1-2 beds, with distinct circuits for patients and staff.

All the salons will be provided with their own bathroom. All spaces will be equipped with UV lamps compatible to be used simultaneously with the presence of people (in rooms, sanitary groups, isolation rooms).

The total value of the investment is 120,358,932 lei (including VAT), and the estimated duration of the investment is 24 months. The value of the investment also includes the expenses related to the budget margin and for the establishment of the implementation reserve for the price adjustment in the amount of 28,725,723 lei. The required amount is to be drawn from non-refundable funds established by the programs included in the financial year 2021-2027 POS 2021-2027- P2, from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Health, as well as from other legally established sources, within the limits of the amounts approved annually with this destination, according to the investment programs approved according to the law.
