Over 600 drivers fined in traffic in Sibiu. 40 were left without a license last weekend

Traffic police officers from Sibiu found 14 crimes during actions to prevent and combat driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances.

Between April 26-28, the traffic police in Sibiu carried out actions to prevent and combat the driving of vehicles by drivers under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances. The results of the actions included the detection of 14 traffic offenses, the withholding of 40 driving licenses, the withdrawal of 25 registration certificates and the application of 600 contraventional sanctions, amounting to 209,000 lei. The most common offenses found were driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.

In a separate case, on April 27, in the town of Șeica Mare, the traffic police stopped for control a car driven by a 52-year-old man from the town of Ruși. Breathalyzer testing indicated a value of 0.85 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air, and the man was accompanied to a medical facility for the collection of biological samples. In the case, a criminal case was opened for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In another case, on April 28, in the town of Alțina, the police stopped for control a car driven by a 24-year-old man from Brateiu. He did not have the right to drive motor vehicles on public roads, and the breathalyzer test indicated a value of 0.62 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. The man was accompanied to a medical unit for the collection of biological samples, and a criminal case was opened for driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.
