Several searches took place on Monday morning within the radius of the Municipality of Sibiu. Following them, the former police officer, Marian Răduinea, was picked up and taken to hearings. He is accused of having hatched an “evil” plan to compromise the current head of the IPJ Sibiu, Tiberiu Ivancea, and also denigrated the judicial system, with the help of three police officers. Răduinea is also accused of cheating with oil products, he is being questioned for this as well.

The prosecutor’s office attached to the Sibiu District Court announced on Monday afternoon that “the author of the fraud crime was arrested”.
“Also, in the Pt Sibiu file, it was ordered to continue the criminal investigation against one of the police officers with leadership positions for the crime provided for by Article 304 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and against the former police officer for the crime provided for by Article 304 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code”. The prosecutor’s office attached to the Sibiu Court and the one attached to the Sibiu Court report that several home search warrants were executed in two criminal cases in which, due to the connections between the persons involved, these activities were required to be carried out in a coordinated and concurrent manner.
“Despicable” plan set up to denigrate the family of the Head of IPJ Sibiu
The former police officer, Marian Răduinea, is accused of having set up a plan by which he tried to denigrate the current head of the Sibiu Police. “In his attempt to denigrate the judicial system, the former policeman resorted to the creation of fictitious situations with implications on the prestige of the institutions, and his activity to get in contact with another former police officer and to cite alleged evidence to denigrate him is noteworthy on the chief inspector of IPJ Sibiu in view of the existence of alleged deficiencies in the upbringing and education of his 15-year-old minor son.
Thus, in the first decade of April 2024, the former traffic agent and the former officer of IPJ Sibiu agreed that the daughter of the latter, aged approximately 15 years, approach the youngest son of the chief inspector of IPJ Sibiu and collect different information from that minor in order to succeed in defaming the police chief.
Also, during those discussions, the former police commissioner agreed to get his minor daughter to get close to the minor son of the chief inspector of IPJ Sibiu and draw him into certain compromising surroundings, on which occasion he would record those moments , and then to hand over the records to her father to pass them on to the ex-traffic officer for publication on his Facebook page.
Moreover, in order to carry out his vile plan, during discussions with another traffic officer, who is currently being prosecuted for committing a multitude of corruption offences, the former traffic police officer stated that will cause an alleged drug trafficker from Sibiu, known to this ex-policeman, to bribe him and convince the minor son of the chief inspector of IPJ Sibiu to buy prohibited substances, and then he will “flagrant” him.
After exposing this plan that was to be implemented, by using a minor, to the 15-year-old son of the chief inspector of IPJ Sibiu, the same ex-traffic agent highlighted another plan aimed at the family of the head of the county police structure.
Thus, totally mistakenly believing that the minor son of the chief inspector had driven the Mini Cooper vehicle owned by the police inspector in the past, the former traffic officer stated that he would follow the BMW brand vehicle of the chief inspector’s family and, if he found that the vehicle is driven by a minor, will intentionally ram that vehicle, being indifferent to him, in such a hypothesis, that he will injure or kill someone”, the statement sent by the Prosecutor’s Office next to the Court states.
Accusations of bringing the judiciary into disrepute
In a statement sent by the Court of the Prosecutor’s Office and other reasons that determined the home searches. “Given the concrete way of committing the act, the continued form of these activities carried out by the suspected persons, the purpose pursued by the perpetrators, namely the unjustified denigration of public institutions, especially the judicial bodies, taking into account the quality of the persons involved in the structure of leakage of information, the existence of an increased degree of danger to public order can be clearly observed.
Thus, on the one hand, one can note a perfectly conscious and even planned character, in the short, medium and long term, of the concerted actions carried out by this former traffic policeman, who chose to resort to such acts of public presentation of some secret service data or information or information not intended for publicity, pursuing or accepting the endangerment of service relationships protected by the criminal law of incrimination.
On the other hand, we can also observe the activity of this former policeman to attract followers and proselytes, some even from among high-ranking police officers with access to secret service data or information not intended for publicity, but also former policemen or police officers tried for acts of corruption, but also of a 27-year-old male person, author of a deed of deception, a deed known by the former traffic policeman”, according to the press release.
Raduine was also accused of complicity in oil fraud
Four home search warrants were carried out on Monday morning, at the addresses of people suspected of fraud in the municipality of Sibiu, Sibiu county, respectively at the home of the former police officer from the Traffic Bureau of the Municipality of Sibiu, Marian Răduinea. but also at the offices of three police officers from the IPJ Sibiu management. Răduinea is suspected of committing the crime of disclosing secret service or non-public information.
A 27-year-old man was detained after he lied that his company was a serious business partner and that he could be trusted to conclude a contract for the supply of petroleum products.
“In fact, it was noted that, during the summer of 2023, a male person, aged 27, (not a person from the close entourage of a former traffic police officer, author of the facts to be described in point 2 of this communiqué) by presenting as true some false facts, namely that his company is a serious business partner and as such can benefit from trust for the conclusion of an oil product supply contract, although, in reality, this company does not was not carrying out any commercial activity, let alone one involving the consumption of fossil fuels, led a director of an oil product supply company in Sibiu to enter into a contract for the supply of oil products. On the basis of this contract, appreciable quantities of petroleum products were delivered, totaling over 52,000 lei, products which, benefiting from the contribution of the other two accomplices, were then used by the perpetrator to several people, and, in the end, these products did not were paid to the misled supplier.
Raduinea seems to have been complicit in this deception. “In fact, it was noted that the 47-year-old male person, dismissed for a long time from the position of police officer of the Road Bureau within the Sibiu Municipality Police, assigning himself a role as a so-called vigilante, started to constantly carry out activities to denigrate judicial bodies, but also other public institutions, by publishing on their own Facebook page, several data or information that do not correspond to reality or even some real data and information, but which, through a tendentious interpretation, have led to the shaping of a wrong public perception of some states, situations or circumstances regarding the normal functioning of the denigrated public institutions, especially institutions within the judicial system (police, prosecutor’s offices and courts).
In essence, benefiting from the secret service or non-public information allegedly provided without right by the three high-ranking police officers from the IPJ Sibiu regarding the planning of control activities within this police unit, the conduct of exams for the appointment of some officers to management positions, but also regarding the disciplinary investigations regarding certain policemen, the former traffic police officer from Sibiu, between February 2023 and April 2024, disclosed to the public such secret service or non-public data and information , through posts on his own Facebook page, accompanied by comments capable of outlining unreal states, situations or circumstances with the aim of denigrating the leadership of the judicial bodies”, the press release states.
