Through a post activated on Saturday, April 27, 2024 on his Facebook account, Professor Cornel Noană, director of the “Unirea” National College from Focșani, publishes some last-minute information about Andrei-Ștefan Istudor from Focșani, former student of CNU, now student at Computing Science (Computers) at the Royal University of Groningen, Holland. Director Noană recalls in his post that Andrei-Ștefan Istudor from Focșan, a former student of CNU, was the first student from Vrancea to represent Romania at the world robotics championship in the USA. Recently the Focșan , Andrei-Ștefan Istudor won the STEM Award for academic excellence, at the Gala of the League of Romanian Students Abroad! For those who did not know and for those who forgot, it must be stated that Andrei Ștefan Istudor was the first student from Vrancea to represent Romania at the world robotics championship (second qualification Alex Isac last year) from the USA…

Andrei-Ștefan Istudor is the winner of the STEM Award for academic excellence, at the Gala of the League of Romanian Students Abroad! The event took place on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Palace of Parliament, where dozens of students nominated as finalists were invited.

Andrei is a Computing Science student at the Royal University of Groningen, Netherlands, where he is also a member of the Honors College. He loves to take on new challenges and enjoys studying computer science. He has achieved several international achievements in the field of IT as an embedded software engineer and as a research project leader.

Last year he built a solar electric vehicle for the Top Dutch Solar Racing team that crossed the Australian continent from North to South, from Darwin to Adelaide, using the latest technology available. The race lasted 5 days, and the distance traveled was 3027 kilometers, using exclusively renewable energy.

Andrei was a student at the National College <> Focșani, where he studied mathematics and computer science. Since high school he was passionate about engineering, joining the <> robotics club. In 2019, he won the <> award, which ensured his participation in the World Robotics Championship <> in Detroit, USA, where he represented Romania, together with the other winning teams from the national stage in Bucharest.

Andrei currently works at a medical engineering research and innovation company in Utrecht, Netherlands, producing software and hardware solutions for neonatal intensive care units in Western Europe. Merging engineering and medicine is one of his greatest concerns, leading countless projects in this direction.”-Cornel Noana
