Mihai Lasca announced his candidacy for the head of the Council…

--

The controversial Bihor parliamentarian Mihai Lasca, former AUR member and now president of the organization he founded, the Party of Romanian Patriots, announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Bihor County Council.

The announcement was made on Saturday, during a meeting held in Piața Unirii in Oradea, but with a limited audience. The event was attended by about 30 people, PPR members and candidates, the party’s candidate for the autumn presidential elections, Răzvan Constantinescu, a doctor from Iași, who became famous in 2020 when he denied the Covid-19 pandemic, was a special guest. In a short speech, he mentioned that he has many things in common with Mihai Lasca: “Mihai and I want to show that politics can be done in a different way, not necessarily with lies, not with scammers, not with alliances of complacency.”

The mobilizing message was reinforced by the founder and president of the PPR at the national level, Lasca himself: “We are what we need to be for these hard times, in which taxes and fees are constantly increasing, at the national and local level.”

The deputy also announced the PPR candidate for the Oradea City Hall, in the person of the vice-president of the party and his parliamentary adviser, Andrei Boroș, “a man who works and does not complain”.

Taking the floor, Boroș demonstrated that the stake he has is to become a local councilor, as Lasca also let it be understood that he aspires: “We will qualify in various counties, including Bihor, in the City Council and the County Council, and it is a great achievement”.

“We will be successful, we will penetrate the Oradea City Hall with councilors, we will have PPR councilors within the City Hall. We will have a candidate for the presidency of the County Council, where I will be myself. We will have advisers in the County Council”, added Mihai Lasca.

He nominated and invited other PPR members to join him in the electoral race of the local elections, in the town halls of Salonta (Sandor Gyulai), Batăr (Marius Țârlea), Pomezeu (Maria Gabor), Sânmartin Local Council (Ciprian Lasca), Council Local Oradea (Sorin Fechete, Florin Pașcalău), Bihor County Council (Laviniu Dragoș, president of PPR Bihor).

It is worth mentioning, however, that none of the candidates was actually presented. For none of them was not even mentioned the age, occupation or professional experience.

Instead, Lasca concluded that all those mentioned are “loyal and faithful soldiers in the service of the Romanian people”.

Elected deputy in 2020, on the AUR lists, Mihai Lasca was excluded from this party the following year, after it was found out that he has a criminal past, with several offenses in his “CV”. Also in 2021, Lasca received a 2-year suspended prison sentence for beating a rival in traffic.

The politician frequently has an anti-EU language, during the pandemic he challenged protective measures, denying the disease and promoting anti-vaccine messages, and after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine he became a pro-Russian propaganda agent.
