OMD Tulcea Municipality launched the city’s new tourism brand

  • The representatives of the Tourist Destination Management Organization (DMO) Tulcea Municipality organized a press conference during which the new tourism brand of the city and its associated visual identity – You and Tulcea – were presented.
  • The conference held at Cherhanaua of the Fishing Village in Tulcea was attended by Ștefan ILIE, the mayor of Tulcea, Nicolae BIBU, the public administrator of the city, Alexandru FILIP, the manager of the tourist destination Tulcea Municipality and Mugur PĂTRAȘCU, communication specialist and creator of the new tourism brand.

The realization of this brand represents the first step in the adoption of a professional approach to the promotion and development of tourism in the municipality of Tulcea, an objective assumed by the newly established Management Organization of the Tourist Destination Tulcea Municipality. The success comes after a sustained effort of several months in which the members of the OMD, i.e. the representatives of the HoReCa private environment, actively participated. In the initial stages of the approach, the citizens of Tulcea were also involved through a public questionnaire regarding the perception of the tourist potential of the municipality, a research that collected approximately 1000 respondents.

The first event in which the municipality’s new tourism brand will be promoted is the Crumbs of Flowers festival, an event that takes place between April 26 and 28 in the Fisherman’s Village. The OMD Tulcea Municipality’s plans for the promotion and development of tourism also include in the near future the creation of the map and tourist brochure of the city, the launch of the mobile application and the creation of an official promotion spot.

“A city cannot grow without a vision, and part of our vision is that the municipality of Tulcea must become a true tourist city, not just the eternal pier to the Danube Delta. A tourism city must have a unique, coherent proposition, a vision and a brand that attracts people and has a single voice. And “You and Tulcea” instantly creates a relationship that places the tourist within the city. It immediately gives you a sense of familiarity, as if the people who visit us become residents of our city, become Tulceni. Tulcea is growing, Tulcea is rediscovering its essence, its spirit, Tulcea is changing profoundly. And the new tourist brand is a new step we are taking on this road”, declared Ștefan ILIE, the mayor of Tulcea and also the president of the Board of Directors of OMD Tulcea Municipality.

“Everything was possible through a joint and sustained effort, which started last fall. The first meeting with the HoReCa business environment was on October 26, 2023. Then, at the end of December, we managed in record time to obtain the legal approval for the establishment of the OMD from the ministry, and not even four months after that we launched publicly tourism brand. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in this success and I hope from the bottom of my heart that the brand will be liked by the people of Tulcea and will be adopted by all those who believe in Tulcea tourism. We are working on the creation of the map and tourist brochure of the city, on the mobile application and on the creation of an official promotion spot, efforts to continue the path we entered today with the launch of the tourist brand”, pointed out the manager of OMD Tulcea Municipality, Alexandru FILIP .

A native of Tulcea, currently a communication specialist within the communication and branding agency SCREEN NATIVE, recognized at the national level, Mugur Pătrașcu is the one who created the new tourism brand of the municipality of Tulcea. During the press conference, he explained what is behind Tu and Tulcea.

“The new tourism brand of the city tells everyone that Tulcea is coming out of its stupor, that Tulcea wants to do things differently, that it has woken up. Some people, some operators of tourist services, an administration, catalyze the energies of this city and want to establish here a coherent proposal for those who visit Tulcea. “You and Tulcea” is a closeness to something essential in you. You are in a relationship with Tulcea because you are part of what Tulcea is. It is a personal discovery. It’s something you discover after spending a little time here. “You and Tulcea” is the promise of a relationship, after an experience. “Tu si Tulcea” places the tourist in a relationship of familiarity with the city. Any visit here transfers to the tourist from the local essences, makes him find himself in the local values, actually gives him the experience of being a resident, which, in terms of tourism, represents the ultimate experience”.
