RE train 13211, which runs on the Pitesti-Bucuresti Nord route, arrived at its destination on Friday evening, with a delay of 310 minutes, after the locomotive broke down. CFR SA representatives explained that the relief locomotive was waiting for 191 minutes, reports News.ro.

According to CFR SA, train RE 13211, which travels between Pitesti and Bucharest North, arrived at the North Station at 20:51, with a total delay of 310 minutes.

“We mention that the train RE 13211 was formed in the Pitesti station from the set of the train RE 13245, which left the Basarab Depot with a delay of 17 minutes, and in the station Titu announced the failure of the locomotive and stopped for another 191 minutes until a locomotive arrived help to continue the journey to Pitesti. We specify that in certain areas on the Bucharest – Pitesti section, CFR SA is carrying out QUICK WINS type repair works and renewal of the track superstructure, but as we informed the public, through press releases, the delays caused by these works do not exceed, in general, 30-40 minutes”, said the spokesperson of CFR SA, Oana Brânzan.

She showed that the railway staff of CFR SA is constantly making efforts to reduce the minutes of delay caused by the works on the track superstructure.

“However, we cannot intervene in the event of locomotive failure. Passenger transport operators are obliged to manage their own fleet of locomotives and wagons, and when malfunctions occur, they must intervene promptly, by directing the auxiliary locomotives, so that the respective sets are re-registered in circulation in the shortest possible time.
