Over 900 children from Sibiu County participated in first aid demonstrations offered by the Red Cross during the Green Week. With the support of 13 dedicated volunteers, the organization was present daily in 9 schools in the area, providing children with vital first aid knowledge.
The director of the Sibiu branch of the Red Cross, Raluca Morar, emphasized the importance of these initiatives, noting that the schools in Sibiu marked the Green Week with enthusiasm, and the organization was again actively requested. The children were taught various techniques such as the Heimlich maneuver, CPR, wound dressing procedures and the correct way to call 911.
The children’s positive reaction highlighted the importance of first aid education and the Red Cross’ commitment to being present in the community. The organization thanked the volunteers who made this initiative possible.
