A young woman from Bucharest was detained after stealing money from her parents’ house and replacing it with fake banknotes

A 24-year-old woman from Bucharest ended up behind bars, after stealing from her own parents. The woman stole money from her parents’ house and, so that no one would notice, she replaced the banknotes with some counterfeit ones. Everything came to light when the parents wanted to sell the currency, writes news.ro.

The act would have taken place during 2023, when the young woman – who knew where her parents kept their savings – secretly took money. He replaced the stolen amounts with fake notes and hoped to get away with it. It’s just that the police came on the wire, the day the parents wanted to exchange part of the currency.

“Subsequently, the injured person, without guilt, would have tried to convert part of the amount of money held in foreign currency into lei. For the administration of probation, on April 24, 2024, based on a search warrant issued by the competent court, a home search was carried out at the residence of the person in question, in the city of Bucharest, where a mobile phone was discovered and seized, two laptops and 75 banknotes likely to be forged (totalling the value of 3,750 dollars)”, the quoted source added.

After the hearings and based on the evidence, the 24-year-old woman was detained for 24 hours, in the case of the crimes of fraud, forgery of coins and circulation of counterfeit values. During Thursday, the woman is to be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court.
