According to the Romanian Police, during the year 2023, the young woman stole a sum of money, in foreign currency, from her parents’ home, replacing it with counterfeit banknotes.
When his parents tried to convert part of the amount of money held in foreign currency into lei, they found out that the banknotes were fake.
The authorities were alerted, and the police began to investigate “in a criminal case regarding the commission of the crimes of fraud, forgery of coins and putting values into circulation”.
That’s how they ended up searching the young woman’s home, from where they picked up two laptops and 75 banknotes likely to be forged (totalling the value of 3,750 dollars). The woman was detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court, with a proposal for preventive arrest.
