The Baia de Fier Community Association demands the immediate cancellation of all invoices for water supply by Aparegio Gorj. At the same time, it calls for the involvement of national authorities to address the prolonged public health crisis and the neglect of fundamental civic rights.

“After years of reporting and checking water quality, highlighted by independent tests and media reports, it is obvious that Aparegio Gorj is unable to guarantee potability standards. The recent statements in a press release by Aparegio, released to the press today, April 24, 2024, announcing the impurities in the water, are the late recognition of a historical problem, exposing residents to significant health risks.
We remind you that the invoices issued by Aparegio are without valid contracts, signed by citizens, and represent not only a legal violation, but also an ignorance of the rights of consumers to benefit from drinking water. We call on the competent government authorities to intervene in resolving this unacceptable situation.
Also, the analyzes carried out in ApaRegio Gorj SA’s own laboratory should mainly provide two things:
– internal assurance that the services provided are at optimal parameters for the population,
-external assurance that the supplier has the ability to take corrective measures immediately when deviations occur”, the representatives of the association say.

Aparegio Gorj – CED Novaci announced today that the water supplied in Baia de Fier is contaminated. It is not the first time that muddy water flows from the taps.

Aparegio says that the problem arises because of the heavy rainfall, the drains from the slopes and the floods upstream from the Baia De Fier commune catchments. “There have been changes in the quality of the water in terms of turbidity and color. We recommend not using the water for domestic purposes until it has been completely clarified,” says Aparegio.

The Baia de Fier Community Association assumes the role of catalyst in the fight for transparency and justice, asking the competent authorities to take concrete measures.
