A culinary journey through the counties of Satu Mare and Bihor

The 2024 picnic season promises six special events Picnic in the Vineyard and memorable experiences, where the rich gastronomic heritage of the Partium region will be combined with the captivating beauty of the countryside. Lovers of relaxing picnics and wine enthusiasts will be able to stroll through idyllic locations, among hills and vineyards, enjoying excellent wines and local delicacies, in cellars, farmhouses and secular castles, accompanied by the hospitality of local winemakers. At the same time, they will be able to attend folk music performances, traditional dances or other cultural events.

Organized by Association for Rural and Agricultural Development Partium and ZAZOU Social Events & Morethe event Picnic in the Vineyard offers a unique opportunity to get in touch with nature, get to know the local farmers, their stories and the flavors that define this special historical region.

“Tours and excursions to wineries are dedicated to wine lovers who want to know both the wineries, the people in the wineries, walk through the vineyard, visit the wineries and actually see how the wine is produced and, of course, at the end to enjoy the wine of the visited wineries . The visit to the winery is not about drinking but about stories, dedicated people, winemaking and aging techniques and only then about the wine. It is also a unique opportunity to promote tourism in Satu Mare and Bihor,” said the coordinator Association for Rural and Agricultural Development PartiumUDMR deputy from Satu Mare, Magyar Lóránd.

About the Picnic in the Vineyard concept:

The purpose of the Picnic in the Vineyard series of events is to promote Romanian viticulture and the consumption of quality wines, to present the knowledge of Partium farmers, their work and local flavors, to reintegrate cultural heritage and vineyards into the tourist circuit. The 7 Picnic in the Vineyard events organized since 2020 in Sălaj, Mureș and especially Satu Mare counties have been met with great interest, attracting more and more participants eager to discover and experience the charm of the picnic in the vineyard.
